Why is this card good?
Banner of Kinship is an exponential anthem for dedicated tribal decks. The math is what sells it: if you have eight Elves out, it enters with eight counters and gives every Elf +8/+8. That's a board-wide threat-of-lethal in one card.
The catch is the timing. The counters are locked in when it enters — it doesn't update as you add creatures. So you want to drop it once your board is already wide, ideally as a finisher. Played early on an empty board, it's a dead Banner.
Who wants it: Go-wide tribal commanders — Elves (Marwyn, Lathril), Goblins (Krenko), Slivers, Merfolk, Zombies. Anything that floods the board with one creature type and wants to convert quantity into damage.
Skip it if: your tribe leans aristocrats/sacrifice or token-swarm-into-Overrun, where pump matters less than triggers or trample. It also does nothing against board wipes — they reset your count and leave the Banner stranded. Best as a closer, not a build-around.
