Bastion of Remembrance

{2}{B}

Enchantment

LegalRank #328

When this enchantment enters, create a 1/1 white Human Soldier creature token.

Whenever a creature you control dies, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life.

Why is this card good?

Bastion of Remembrance is a staple aristocrats payoff, and one of the best at that price point. Unlike Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat, it's an enchantment, so it dodges creature removal, board wipes, and edict effects — your damage engine survives even when your board doesn't. The key distinction: it pings each opponent for the same amount, scaling beautifully in a multiplayer game. In a deck that sacrifices creatures repeatedly — think Korvold, Meren, Teysa Karlov, or any token-aristocrats build — a single chain of deaths can drain the whole table simultaneously while topping you off. With Teysa, the death triggers even double up. The free token on ETB is small but real: it's an extra body to sacrifice immediately. Don't play it outside dedicated sacrifice or token decks. If you're not generating consistent creature deaths, it's a do-nothing enchantment. It also wants redundancy — run it alongside Blood Artist and Cutthroat for a cumulative drain that closes games.
