Why is this card good?
Carrion Feeder is a premier one-drop sac outlet for black aristocrats and combo decks. The key word is free: it costs no mana to activate, so it enables explosive turns and infinite loops that mana-gated outlets like Viscera Seer (which it resembles) can't keep pace with throughput-wise.
It's a staple in any deck that wants a cheap, repeatable sacrifice engine:
- Aristocrats (Teysa, Yawgmoth, Meren) — fuel for death triggers and recursion.
- Combo lines with Gravecrawler + a death/ETB payoff, or any infinite-creature loop needing a sink.
- Reanimator decks wanting to dump and rebuy threats.
The body grows, but that's incidental — you play it for the outlet, not the beatdown (it can't block anyway). The one real downside: it can't sacrifice itself, so pair it with a backup outlet if you need to escape removal-triggered loops.
Skip it if your deck has no sacrifice payoffs or recursion — it's purely an enabler, not standalone value.
