Why is this card good?
Drannith Magistrate is one of white's most disruptive two-drops, and the entire format is built around the zone it shuts off: the command zone. Locking opponents out of casting their commanders is brutal — they can't replay it after a kill, can't establish their game plan, and have to find removal before they do anything with their deck's centerpiece.
Beyond commanders, it also stops flashback, escape, adventure, foretell, cascade, and casting from exile (Bolas's Citadel, suspend, etc.). It's a real hatebear that quietly nukes entire strategies.
Play it in white stax, hatebears, and aggressive lists that can apply pressure while opponents fumble. It's also a clean answer to a single problem commander you're seated against.
Don't run it as a "good card" filler in casual pods — locking out commanders for a whole game feels miserable and invites table focus. It's also a Game Changer, so it pushes your deck up a bracket. Best in dedicated disruption decks that capitalize on the chaos, not goodstuff piles.
