Why is this card good?

Felidar Retreat is one of white's best landfall payoffs, and the flexibility is what sells it. Most landfall cards lock you into one mode; this lets you grind out an army OR pump and swing for lethal, choosing per trigger based on the board state. Where it shines: - Lands-matter decks (Aesi-adjacent in Bant, or mono-white) that play extra land drops via Azusa effects, fetchlands, or Exploration. - Tokens/go-wide strategies — the anthem mode plus vigilance can turn a stalled board into a winning alpha strike. - Decks running Scute Swarm, Tireless Provisioner, or Ramunap Excavator that recur or multiply land drops for repeated triggers. The real ceiling comes when you double your landfall with Field of the Dead synergies or extra-land-drop engines, banking Cats every turn while ramping. Skip it if you only hit one land per turn with no fetches or recursion — a single token per turn isn't worth a card. It needs a deck built to trigger landfall multiple times to justify the slot.
