Why is this card good?

Furycalm Snarl is solid, unglamorous fixing for two-color Boros decks. The "reveal a Mountain or Plains" condition is more reliable than it looks: it counts any card with the Mountain or Plains type, so dual lands like Sacred Foundry or even Snow-Covered basics trigger it. Early game you'll usually have something to show; later it's a tapland, which is fine. Who wants it: Any RW deck that isn't hyper-competitive — aggro, tokens, equipment/voltron Boros commanders like Wyleth or Winota. It's a clean untapped dual when you need to curve out and cast your commander on time. When to skip it: In a deck running tons of nonbasic lands with few actual Mountains/Plains, it'll come in tapped too often. cEDH and fast combo decks prefer true duals (Plateau, Sacred Foundry, fetches) or fast lands. It's also redundant if you're already loaded on untapped fixing — it's a budget/midrange filler land, not a premium pick. Overall: a fine inclusion, easily cut for upgrades.

    The "Snarl" itself doesn't have any land subtypes. You can't reveal one to satisfy the ability of another.

    If a land card with an appropriate subtype is entering the battlefield from your hand at the same time as one of these lands, you may reveal the other land to have the "Snarl" enter untapped.

  • 2021-04-16

    If an effect instructs you to put one of these lands onto the battlefield tapped, it will still enter the battlefield tapped even if you reveal a land card from your hand.

  • 2021-04-16

    You may reveal any land card with either or both of the appropriate subtypes. It doesn't have to be a basic land card.
