Goblin Electromancer

{U}{R}

Creature — Goblin Wizard

LegalRank #640

Instant and sorcery spells you cast cost {1} less to cast.

2/2

Why is this card good?

Goblin Electromancer is a premier cost-reducer for any deck built around casting a lot of instants and sorceries. The {1} discount adds up fast, and at two mana it comes down early enough to snowball your turns. Who wants it: - Izzet spellslinger decks (Niv-Mizzet, Mizzix, Veyran, Krark) that chain cheap spells for damage, card draw, or storm. - Storm/combo shells where mana efficiency directly fuels your kill — every reduction can mean an extra spell or trigger. - Decks leaning on Magecraft triggers (Veyran especially) where casting more spells per turn is the whole point. When to skip it: - Creature-heavy or non-spell decks gain nothing — the discount doesn't touch artifacts, creatures, or abilities. - It's a fragile 2/2 that dies to any spot removal or board wipe, so don't over-rely on it to "enable" your deck. Run it alongside Baral and other reducers to stack discounts. Cheap, replaceable, and effective in the right shell.
