Why is this card good?
Gruul Turf is a "bounceland" — it produces two mana of different colors from a single land, effectively a built-in Ramp piece that fixes your colors. That two-for-one mana is genuinely strong in a format where hitting your land drops on curve matters and color screw kills games.
The catch is real: it enters tapped and bounces a land, so it sets you back a turn and is awful as your opening play. It shines when you bounce another tapland or an ETB land (more value), or play it after you've stabilized.
Who wants it: any Gruul (or Gruul-inclusive) deck that's mana-hungry — big-creature ramp, Gruul stompy, or budget decks needing fixing without fetches. It pairs nicely with landfall (Omnath, Tatyova-style triggers) since the bounce lets you replay lands.
Don't play it in fast, low-curve, or cEDH-adjacent decks where tempo loss is unacceptable, or if you already run premium duals and fetches.
