Why is this card good?
Llanowar Elves is one of the best one-drops in green, full stop. A turn-one Elf accelerates you to a turn-two three-drop, and in Commander that tempo swing compounds — you cast your bombs and commander ahead of the table.
It shines in any green ramp shell, but it's especially good in Elfball and elf-tribal decks (Marwyn, Ezuri, Lathril) where it's a body for tap-payoffs, anthem effects, and convoke. Token and go-wide decks also love the extra creature, and anything wanting fast mana to power out a big commander wants it.
The downsides: it's a mana dork that dies to every board wipe and creature removal, and it doesn't scale into the late game like rocks or land ramp. In high-power, removal-heavy pods it gets pinged or swept easily.
Don't bother in decks that aren't green-heavy enough to reliably use the , or in slow, grindy control builds where a fragile early dork adds little. Otherwise, near-auto-include.
