Why is this card good?
Mystic Monastery is a serviceable Jeskai tri-land that fixes all three of your colors off a single source. In a three-color deck, reliable fixing is non-negotiable, and any land that taps for three specific colors earns a slot in most builds — especially budget ones.
The catch is it always enters tapped. That tempo loss matters more than people think: in fast or competitive metas, a turn-one tapped land can cost you a curve-out. Triomes (like Raugrin Triome) and tango/dual lands generally outclass it because they offer fetchability, untapped potential, or land-type synergy.
Who wants it: budget or casual Jeskai decks (Narset, Kykar, Elsha, Shorikai) that prioritize consistency over speed, and any midrange-or-slower three-color list rounding out its mana base.
When to skip it: cutthroat/cEDH builds, low-curve aggressive decks, or any deck that already runs the superior Triome/Battlebond/shockland suite and just doesn't need another tapland clogging the early turns.
