Why is this card good?

Secluded Courtyard is the premium fixing land for tribal decks, full stop. In a typed deck, it effectively reads "tap for any color" because the vast majority of your spells are creatures of the chosen type, and it enters untapped — a huge tempo win over taplands. Who wants it: - Dedicated tribal/kindred decks: Elves, Goblins, Slivers, Dragons, Merfolk, Vampires, Knights, etc. - Multicolor tribal commanders where color fixing is tight (think Edgar Markov, Najeela, The Ur-Dragon, Lathril). - Decks with lots of creature activated abilities, since it pays for those too. It pairs naturally with Cavern of Souls, Unclaimed Territory, and Path of Ancestry as a fixing package. When NOT to play it: Any deck that isn't tribal. If your creature base is a grab-bag of types, the colored mana becomes dead for spells, instants, sorceries, and artifacts — leaving you a colorless-only land. In non-kindred decks it's strictly worse than a basic or a real dual.
