The Ozolith

{1}

Legendary Artifact

LegalRank #304

Whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, if it had counters on it, put those counters on The Ozolith.

At the beginning of combat on your turn, if The Ozolith has counters on it, you may move all counters from The Ozolith onto target creature.

Why is this card good?

The Ozolith is a counter-matters all-star that turns dying creatures into permanent value. Instead of losing all that invested mana when a +1/+1 counter creature dies, you bank the counters and dump them onto something new every combat. Where it shines: - +1/+1 counter decks — Hamza, Ghave, Pir/Toothy, Skullbriar, Animar. It protects your counter investment from removal and board wipes. - Aristocrats/sacrifice counter decks where creatures leave constantly — every death feeds the pile. - Proliferate shells (Atraxa, Ezuri) that snowball counters fast. Why it's strong: It's a one-mana insurance policy. Wrath your board, scoop the counters, and next turn slap them onto a fresh threat. It also stacks counters across multiple deaths into one giant payoff. When to skip it: Don't run it if your deck doesn't generate persistent counters — it does nothing in a typical tokens, spellslinger, or non-counter deck. It also can't move counters the same turn creatures enter unless you wait for combat, so it's slow against fast aggro.
