BuildCard details

The Commander

Flying, haste

Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, Wizards you control get +1/+1 until end of turn.

Guide

Gameplan

Deploy Adeliz early as a cheap evasive threat, then chain cheap instants and sorceries to repeatedly pump her and your other Wizards while drawing cards and protecting her. You win by turning Adeliz into a fast clock—often killing the table with commander damage—while a wide Wizard board and spell velocity grind out value. Hold up interaction so each spell does double duty as a buff and an answer.

Strengths

  • Self-pumping, evasive commander that can close games quickly with flying commander damage
  • Spell-based gameplay means cheap cantrips both grow your board and advance card flow
  • Wizard tribal synergies amplify the +1/+1 trigger across multiple bodies
  • Low curve and color access to the best counterspells and burn in the format

Weaknesses

  • Heavily commander-dependent—if Adeliz dies repeatedly, the deck stalls and tax escalates
  • Fragile to board wipes and spot removal since pumps are temporary
  • Can run low on gas without strong card advantage engines
  • Vulnerable to flyers, blockers, and lifegain that blunt the combat plan

Key Cards

  • Naru Meha, Master Wizard — Enables an infinite spell loop with a copyable buyback/cheap instant to make Adeliz arbitrarily large and trigger Wizards endlessly.
  • Young Pyromancer — Generates Elemental tokens off your spell density, though true payoff is more Wizards—pairs with token makers to widen the board for pumps.
  • Adeliz, the Cinder Wind — The engine herself—every instant or sorcery grows your team, so the whole deck is built to cast spells efficiently.
  • Mystic Reflection — Cheap instant that buffs Adeliz while answering a key creature, embodying the deck's dual-purpose spells.
  • Snapcaster Mage — A Wizard that recasts your buffs and interaction, doubling as a body that benefits from the +1/+1 trigger.
  • Aetherflux Reservoir — A storm-style payoff that punishes your high spell count and offers a non-combat kill against lifegain or stalled boards.

Upgrade Path

Lower the curve and add free or cheap interaction (Pyroblast, Mystical Tutor, Brainstorm) so every turn advances the clock while protecting Adeliz with counters and Lightning Greaves. Add efficient card advantage like Mystic Remora, Rhystic Study, and Archmage Emeritus to avoid running dry. For higher power, install the Naru Meha combo and storm payoffs to convert your spell density into a deterministic kill rather than relying solely on combat.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Flying commander damage from a pumped Adeliz, often killing in two or three swings
  • ▸Wide Wizard board buffed by chained spells for a lethal alpha strike
  • ▸Aetherflux Reservoir or a storm finish off a high spell count
  • ▸Naru Meha infinite loop generating lethal pump or storm triggers

Archetypes

  • Spellslinger — Adeliz rewards casting a high volume of instants and sorceries with board-wide pumps.
  • Wizard Tribal — Her trigger buffs every Wizard you control, incentivizing a tribal shell with lords and synergy pieces.
  • Voltron — Flying and haste plus repeated self-pumps let Adeliz solo opponents with commander damage.
  • Combo — Naru Meha and copy/buyback loops can generate infinite triggers or storm counts for a one-turn kill.
