Akim, the Soaring Wind

Gameplan

Akim is a Jeskai tokens engine: spam token-makers so the first token each turn adds a free 1/1 flying Bird, building a wide flying army. Develop your board across multiple turns, protect it, then pump the activated ability (or anthem/overrun effects) to swing for lethal damage. The double strike activation lets a modest board of fliers deal explosive evasive damage out of nowhere.

• Divine Visitation — Turns every token you'd make into a 4/4 flying Angel instead of a 1/1, while Akim still adds Birds on top.
• Anointed Procession — Doubles token production, dramatically multiplying both your generators and Akim's Bird triggers across the board.
• Cathars' Crusade — Each token entering adds permanent +1/+1 counters, snowballing your wide board into a lethal force fast.
• Smothering Tithe — Premier ramp that fuels both wide token plays and Akim's expensive double-strike activation.
• Storm-Kiln Artist — Turns spell density into Treasure tokens, ramping you and triggering Akim while enabling the activated ability.
• Jeska's Will — Explosive ramp and card advantage to power out token-makers and the six-mana double-strike finisher in a single turn.

Upgrade Path

Add token doublers (Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus) and payoff anthems (Cathars' Crusade, Divine Visitation) to multiply Akim's value, then prioritize fast ramp like Smothering Tithe and Jeska's Will to reliably afford the double-strike activation. Include board-wipe insurance via Heroic Intervention, Flawless Maneuver, or recursive token engines, and tighten the curve with cheap repeatable token-makers so Akim triggers every single turn.
