The Commander

Vigilance, reach

In You, All Things Are Possible — Whenever one or more artifact creatures you control attack, discover X, where X is the greatest power among them. (Exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card with that mana value or less. Cast it without paying its mana cost or put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom in a random order.)

Guide

Gameplan

Aloy is a Simic artifact-aggro engine: deploy artifact creatures, swing wide (Aloy has vigilance so she keeps attacking and blocking), and trigger Discover X equal to your biggest attacker's power to chain free spells onto the battlefield. You snowball board presence and card advantage every combat, ramping toward huge artifact creatures and game-ending payoffs.

Strengths

  • Repeatable free value: every attack converts board power into cast-for-free spells via Discover
  • Vigilance + reach makes Aloy a strong attacker and defender simultaneously
  • Green ramp plus blue card flow supports an expensive, high-power artifact curve
  • Discover X scales naturally as your creatures get bigger, hitting your best spells

Weaknesses

  • Discover only triggers on attack, so it's slow against fast combo and gets blanked by board wipes
  • Reliant on having artifact creatures with high power on board to make Discover worthwhile
  • Vulnerable to artifact hate (Vandalblast, Bane of Progress) hitting your whole engine
  • No built-in evasion or protection for Aloy, who is removal-magnet once value snowballs
  • Discover whiffs into lands and can hit low-impact cards if your curve isn't tuned

Key Cards

  • Master of Etherium — Pumps all your artifact creatures' power, raising your Discover X for bigger hits.
  • Steel Overseer — Grows your artifact team each turn, feeding both board and Discover value.
  • Cyberdrive Awakener — Turns your whole board into big artifact creatures and gives evasion to push attacks through.
  • Etali, Primal Conqueror — A huge artifact creature that's both a great Discover hit and an attacker that maxes X.
  • Forsaken Monument — Doubles colorless mana and pumps colorless creatures, fueling ramp and bigger swings.
  • Skullclamp — Cheap artifact draw engine that refills your hand off small artifact creatures.
  • Trygon Predator — Evasive artifact creature that pressures opponents while answering their artifacts and enchantments.

Upgrade Path

Tighten your curve so Discover reliably hits impactful nonland cards—cut weak low-power creatures and add high-power artifacts plus anthems like Master of Etherium to inflate X. Add fast ramp (Sol Ring, Signets, mana rocks) and protection like Heroic Intervention to survive wipes, then include a clean finisher such as Craterhoof Behemoth or Cyberdrive Awakener. Top-end interaction (Cyclonic Rift) and artifact recursion keep the engine resilient against hate.

  • ▸Snowballing free value off Discover until you out-resource the table

Archetypes

  • Artifact Aggro — Aloy rewards going wide with high-power artifact creatures and attacking every turn for Discover value.
  • Big-Mana Ramp — Simic ramp lets you cast heavy artifact creatures whose power maximizes Discover X.
  • Value Midrange — Discover provides a constant stream of free spells, grinding out card advantage over time.
  • Stompy Combo — Power-boosting effects and free Discover casts can chain into game-ending artifact payoffs.
