Whenever you cast a spell that targets one or more creatures or Vehicles you control, put that many +1/+1 counters on Arcee. Convert Arcee.

Gameplan

Arcee turns spells that target your own creatures into +1/+1 counters, then converts to her robot side to fling those counters as direct damage. You build a board of efficient creatures, fire cheap auras/pump/protection spells at your own team to stack counters on Arcee, and either swing with a buffed first-striker or sling counters to pick off blockers and finish opponents indirectly.

Strengths

  • Counter generation is repeatable and free of cost beyond casting spells you already want to cast
  • First strike plus large counter totals makes her a real combat threat
  • The fling ability provides removal and reach without needing extra cards
  • Vehicle side dodges sorcery-speed board wipes and sweepers that hit creatures during opponents' turns
  • Low mana value (effectively castable for RW) means fast recasts after removal

Weaknesses

  • Targeted self-buff spells often read as card disadvantage if Arcee is removed
  • Relies on having creatures in play to target, so board wipes hurt the engine
  • Counters only matter while Arcee survives; she's a removal magnet
  • Fling damage to players is only available via combat damage, not the activated ability (it targets creatures)
  • Mono-combat focus can stall against go-wide or lifegain decks

  • Brave the Elements — A one-mana spell that can target multiple creatures you control, loading Arcee with counters while granting protection.
  • Aerial Boost — Cheap instant that targets a creature you control to grow Arcee and push damage.
  • Inspiring Call — Draws cards based on counters and protects your board, while triggering Arcee's counter engine.
  • Skullclamp — Refills your hand off small targeted creatures, keeping the spell engine fueled.
  • Branching Evolution — Doubles every counter Arcee gets from your targeted spells, accelerating the fling and combat plans.

Upgrade Path

Add counter doublers like Doubling Season and Hardened Scales plus proliferate sources to make each targeting trigger explosive. Prioritize cheap, multi-target protection spells (Boros Charm, Make a Stand) so Arcee's counters survive wipes and removal. Round out with efficient ramp (Smothering Tithe, signets) and equipment like Lightning Greaves to keep her sticking and recasting cheaply.
