BuildCard details

The Commander

Trample

Whenever Borborygmos Enraged deals combat damage to a player, reveal the top three cards of your library. Put all land cards revealed this way into your hand and the rest into your graveyard.

Discard a land card: Borborygmos Enraged deals 3 damage to any target.

Guide

Gameplan

Ramp into Borborygmos, then turn your flooded hand of lands into a machine gun—discard lands to deal 3 damage repeatedly at any target, killing creatures, players, and clearing blockers. Connecting in combat refills your hand with more lands to keep firing. You win by stockpiling lands and converting them directly into damage.

Strengths

  • Repeatable removal and reach that doubles as a wincon by discarding lands
  • Loves flooding—extra lands become ammunition rather than dead draws
  • Trample plus 7 power closes games fast and triggers card advantage
  • Strong synergy with land recursion and untapped reanimation of lands

Weaknesses

  • 8 mana commander that does little until it's on the battlefield
  • Relies on having Borborygmos out to use lands as removal—vulnerable to tax/removal
  • Slow to reach lethal damage without land-recursion engines
  • Color pair lacks strong protection and interaction outside of green/red

Key Cards

  • Crucible of Worlds — Replays discarded lands every turn, giving you endless ammunition for Borborygmos's ability.
  • Ramunap Excavator — A creature version of Crucible that recurs sacrificed/discarded lands to refuel the cannon.
  • Splendid Reclamation — Returns every land in your graveyard at once, refilling a huge hand of ammo after a combat dump.
  • The Gitrog Monster — Draws cards off land sacrifice and lets you play extra lands, feeding both card flow and ammo.
  • Exploration — Extra land drops accelerate ramp and stockpile cards to throw with Borborygmos.
  • Tireless Provisioner — Turns extra lands into treasures and food, smoothing mana and value as you cycle lands.

Upgrade Path

Prioritize land-recursion loops—Crucible of Worlds, Ramunap Excavator, and a sacrifice-or-discard outlet plus a free land-drop engine can become a near-infinite damage machine. Add ramp like Cultivate, Three Visits, and Nature's Lore to deploy the commander faster, and include protection (Heroic Intervention, Lightning Greaves) so your engine survives. Tutors like Crop Rotation and Expedition Map fetch key lands and combo pieces.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Discard lands to Borborygmos for repeated 3-damage burst, finishing opponents directly
  • ▸Connect in combat to refill hand then fling lands for lethal
  • ▸Beat down with trampling fatties while using removal to clear blockers

Archetypes

  • Lands Matter — Borborygmos converts surplus lands into damage and rewards land recursion engines.
  • Stompy/Ramp — Big mana ramps into the commander and supports a board of fatties to swing alongside.
  • Combo — Crucible/Ramunap loops with land-discard outlets can chain into lethal direct damage.
