Gameplan

Donna Noble is a mono-red damage-redirection engine: pair her via Soulbond with a tough or indestructible creature, then funnel damage into that creature so Donna mirrors every point to an opponent's face. You play out a value/aggro shell early, then turn 'damage to your own stuff' (fights, Blasphemous Act, Furnace effects) into burn that targets opponents. As a Doctor's companion she can also ride alongside a partner Doctor to broaden the strategy.

Strengths

  • Turns damage you'd normally avoid (board wipes like Blasphemous Act, fight effects, pingers) into direct burn to an opponent
  • Pairs beautifully with indestructible damage-soakers like Brash Taunter and Stuffy Doll for repeatable face damage
  • Scales explosively with red damage doublers/triplers
  • Doctor's companion lets you pair with a Doctor for a richer two-commander engine and deeper card pool
  • Mono-red means consistent, cheap, focused burn and fast curves

Weaknesses

  • Soulbond pairing is fragile—removal on either creature breaks the link and stalls the engine
  • Mono-red lacks card draw, ramp, and interaction outside burn/artifacts
  • Donna only triggers when damage is actually dealt, so she does nothing on her own without enablers
  • Vulnerable to lifegain and damage-prevention decks that blunt the burn plan
  • Telegraphed combo lines invite targeted removal before you assemble them

Key Cards

  • Brash Taunter — Indestructible, redirects damage dealt to it AND triggers Donna, doubling every hit into the opponent's face.
  • Stuffy Doll — Indestructible Soulbond target you can repeatedly damage to fire Donna over and over.
  • Blasphemous Act — Deals 13 to your indestructible paired creature, instantly mirroring 13 burn to a chosen opponent.
  • Fiery Emancipation — Triples all your damage, including Donna's redirected burn, making single triggers lethal.
  • Furnace of Rath — Doubles damage dealt, so each hit to your paired creature deals double and Donna mirrors double.
  • Pyrohemia — Repeatable symmetric pinging fuels Donna while you protect the engine with indestructible pairs.

Upgrade Path

Add damage multipliers (Fiery Emancipation, Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twins) and more indestructible soakers to make single triggers lethal, plus protection like Heroic Intervention or boots to keep pairs intact. Round out mono-red's weaknesses with rituals and burst ramp (Jeska's Will, Treasure makers) and card advantage (Outpost Siege, Wheel effects). For maximum power, lean into Blasphemous Act + Brash Taunter as a repeatable, tutorable burn finisher and run efficient removal to protect the engine.
