The Commander

Haste

You may activate abilities of other creatures you control as though those creatures had haste.

{T}: When you next activate an ability that isn't a mana ability this turn by spending four or more mana to activate it, copy that ability. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Guide

Gameplan

Build a board of creatures with powerful activated abilities, then use Dynaheir to ignore summoning sickness and copy big-mana activations for double value. You ramp into expensive activated abilities (4+ mana) and snowball card advantage, damage, or tokens until you overwhelm the table. Dynaheir's haste-granting also lets fresh creatures tap immediately, accelerating your engine.

Strengths

  • Doubles high-impact activated abilities, effectively halving their cost in value
  • Haste enabler lets newly cast creatures activate abilities the turn they arrive
  • Jeskai gives access to ramp, card draw, removal, and protection
  • Flexible engine that punishes opponents who can't interact with abilities

Weaknesses

  • Heavily reliant on the commander; gets little done without her on the field
  • Copy ability only triggers once per turn (single {T} activation)
  • Needs mana-intensive activated abilities, so it can be clunky and ramp-dependent
  • Vulnerable to graveyard hate, artifact/creature removal, and stax on activated abilities

Key Cards

  • Walking Ballista — Activate its removal/damage ability for 4+ mana via proliferate or pump, then copy it for double pings.
  • Kalonian Hydra — Big creature whose activated payoffs and the copy effect snowball; pairs with counters synergy.
  • Magus of the Wheel — A {T} draw-seven that Dynaheir gives haste, refilling your hand to fuel expensive activations.
  • Voja, Jaws of the Conclave — Color-aligned beater, but more importantly the deck wants creatures with strong tap abilities to copy.
  • Inferno Titan — Its {T} damage ability gets copied for double removal each combat once given haste.
  • Thousand-Year Elixir — Backup haste/untap so creatures can activate twice and you don't lean entirely on Dynaheir.

Upgrade Path

Add more high-value activated abilities that cost 4+ mana and untap enablers like Thousand-Year Elixir and Aphetto Alchemist so you copy something every turn. Improve ramp (mana rocks, Smothering Tithe) and protection (Heroic Intervention, Lightning Greaves) to keep Dynaheir online. Lean toward a compact combo finish—pair a copyable ability with an untapper for an instant-win loop—to raise the ceiling.

Core Cards

The most-played cards for this commander, built from aggregated deck data (the Mythic Graph). Build public decks to seed it.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Doubled pinger abilities (Walking Ballista, Inferno Titan) burning out the table
  • ▸Overwhelming with copied token-generation and pumped attackers
  • ▸Activated-ability combo loops generating infinite damage or mana
  • ▸Voltron-style copied buffs swinging for lethal commander damage

Archetypes

  • Activated Ability Value — She copies any nonmana activated ability costing 4+, turning utility creatures into double-value engines.
  • Spellslinger/Pingers — Copies damage-based tap abilities to act as repeatable, doubled removal and reach.
  • Tokens/Counters — Doubling token-making or +1/+1 counter activations builds a board fast.
  • Combo — Copying an activated ability that triggers loops or untap effects can enable explosive turns.
