BuildCard details

The Commander

Trample, haste

Whenever Eivor deals combat damage to a player, you mill that many cards. You may put a Saga card and/or a land card from among them onto the battlefield.

Guide

Gameplan

Swing with Eivor (or attackers) to mill chunks of your library, then cheat Sagas and lands directly into play for free value while she keeps growing your board. You build a Naya midrange/Sagas pile that snowballs card advantage and ramp until you overwhelm the table with creatures and Saga payoffs. Trample and haste mean Eivor connects early and often, turning combat into a recurring tutor-and-cheat engine.

Strengths

  • Free Saga and land drops every combat accelerate your game state hard
  • Trample + haste guarantee damage gets through and triggers immediately
  • Self-mill fuels graveyard synergies and reanimation
  • Naya colors give access to the best ramp, Sagas, and beaters

Weaknesses

  • Entirely combat-dependent—if Eivor is removed or blocked she does nothing
  • Six mana makes her slow to deploy and easy to answer before value accrues
  • Milling is random; you can whiff and dump key cards into the yard
  • Three-color manabase and Saga shell can be inconsistent without fixing

Key Cards

  • The Restoration of Eiganjo — A premier Saga that ramps, refills your hand, and leaves a creature—exactly what Eivor cheats out for free.
  • Urza's Saga — A land that's also a Saga, so Eivor can drop it and immediately start generating Constructs and tutoring.
  • Wrenn and Six — Recurs the lands Eivor mills into your graveyard while pinging blockers to keep her swinging.
  • The Mending of Dominaria — A massive payoff Saga that reanimates everything you've milled, turning Eivor's self-mill into an army.
  • Rampaging Baloths — Each land Eivor drops makes a 4/4 Beast, snowballing your board off combat triggers.
  • Crucible of Worlds — Replay milled and sacrificed lands, smoothing draws and maximizing Eivor's land hits.

Upgrade Path

Tighten the manabase with fetchlands, duals, and Crucible/Wrenn loops so Eivor's land hits are never dead, and prioritize high-impact Sagas you're thrilled to flip for free. Add evasion and protection (Swiftfoot Boots, Sylvan Safekeeper, Heroic Intervention) so she reliably connects, and lean into graveyard payoffs to convert random mill into reanimation value. Top end with landfall token engines and a couple of compact wincons to ensure the snowball actually closes games.

Core Cards

Win Conditions

  • ▸Beat down with a growing Eivor plus Saga- and landfall-generated tokens
  • ▸Reanimate milled threats via The Mending of Dominaria or similar for an overwhelming board
  • ▸Snowball mana and Saga payoffs into a game-ending haymaker like a finisher creature
  • ▸Trample damage plus token swarms simply outrace and crush opponents in combat

Archetypes

  • Sagas Midrange — Eivor cheats Saga cards straight into play, doubling down on the most efficient enchantment value engines in Naya.
  • Lands/Ramp — Free land drops every combat accelerate mana and feed landfall payoffs.
  • Reanimator — Self-mill stocks the graveyard, and Naya offers ways to return milled bombs and Sagas.
  • Voltron Aggro — Pumping and protecting Eivor maximizes damage, mill, and the value cheated into play.
