BuildCard details

The Commander

When Enkira, Hostile Scavenger enters, create two Walker tokens. (They're 2/2 black Zombie creatures.)

As long as Enkira is equipped, it must be blocked if able.

Whenever Enkira and at least two Zombies attack, Enkira gains indestructible until end of turn.

Guide

Gameplan

Enkira is a BG Zombie-aristocrats/Voltron hybrid that floods the board with 2/2 Walker tokens, then swings wide alongside an indestructible, equipped commander. You start making bodies the moment she enters, build a Zombie army, and either chip in damage with a token swarm or strap equipment onto Enkira and force chump blocks while she stays unkillable in combat. Drain, sacrifice payoffs, and recursion turn dead Walkers into card and life advantage.

Strengths

  • Built-in board presence: two Walkers every time Enkira enters, even after a recast
  • Indestructible in combat makes her a near-unkillable Voltron threat once equipped
  • 'Must be blocked' lets her trample/connect or bait blockers off your real attackers
  • Endless cheap Zombie fodder pairs perfectly with sacrifice and drain engines
  • BG access to powerful recursion, ramp, and removal

Weaknesses

  • Commander-dependent: many decks stall if Enkira is repeatedly removed before combat
  • Tokens are fragile to board wipes, especially exile-based sweepers
  • Indestructible doesn't stop exile, -X/-X, edicts, or bounce
  • Wide go-wide plans get blunted by fogs and mass blockers
  • Equipment plan can be slow and risks two-for-ones if the gear is destroyed

Key Cards

  • Skullclamp — Turns expendable 2/2 Walkers into a relentless card-draw engine.
  • Embercleave — Off-color but BG's best is similar—use trample equipment so 'must be blocked' converts into lethal damage.
  • Cryptolith Rite — Converts the Zombie swarm into a massive mana engine to cast and recast everything.
  • Pitiless Plunderer — Each sacrificed Walker makes Treasure, fueling explosive combo and recast loops.
  • Zulaport Cutthroat — Drains the table every time a Walker dies, turning tokens into a win condition.
  • Champion of Lambholt — Grows uncontrollably with a wide board and makes your attackers unblockable.

Upgrade Path

Add fast mana and token doublers (Anointed Procession, Parallel Lives) plus sac-and-drain engines (Blood Artist, Bastion of Remembrance) to make every Walker matter. Lean into a Skullclamp/Pitiless Plunderer/Gravecrawler-style engine for card and mana advantage, and include protection (Lightning Greaves, Heroic Intervention) so removal-heavy tables can't blunt your commander. For higher power, build toward a tight aristocrats combo finish rather than relying purely on combat damage.

Archetypes

  • Zombie Tribal — Walkers are Zombies, so she anchors a tribal swarm with lords and Zombie synergies.
  • Aristocrats — Free token bodies feed sacrifice outlets and drain effects for incremental wins.
  • Voltron — Indestructible plus 'must be blocked' makes equipped Enkira a resilient beatstick.
  • Tokens/Go-Wide — Constant Walker generation plus anthems pressures the whole table at once.
