The Commander

+2: Untap each enchanted permanent you control.

−1: Create a white Aura enchantment token named Mask attached to another target permanent. The token has enchant permanent and umbra armor.

−7: Mill seven cards. Return all non-Aura enchantment cards from your graveyard to the battlefield, then do the same for Aura cards.

Gameplan

Estrid is an enchantress/enchantment-ramp commander who builds a board of enchanted permanents protected by Mask tokens, generates explosive mana through enchanted lands and mana dorks, and grinds value off a critical mass of Auras and enchantments. You untap your enchanted mana sources for huge turns, protect key permanents with umbra armor, and eventually ultimate to reanimate your whole enchantment graveyard.

Strengths

  • Powerful enchantment ramp that explodes when Estrid untaps enchanted mana sources
  • Mask tokens grant umbra armor, making creatures and walkers nearly impossible to kill with single-target removal
  • Bant gives access to the best enchantress card-draw engines and enchantment payoffs
  • Self-protecting planeswalker that ticks up immediately and threatens a game-ending ultimate

Weaknesses

  • Heavily reliant on enchanted permanents existing to leverage the +2
  • Board wipes and enchantment removal (Back to Nature, Cleansing Nova) can collapse the whole engine
  • Slow to close games without a dedicated finisher
  • Estrid herself is a removal magnet that opponents prioritize

  • Utopia Sprawl — One-mana enchanted land ramp that doubles mana when Estrid's +2 untaps it.

  • Eidolon of Blossoms — Constellation card draw turns every enchantment and Mask token into pure value.
  • Sterling Grove — Tutors any enchantment and protects your whole enchantment suite from removal.
  • Estrid's Invocation — Copies your best enchantment and synergizes directly with the Estrid game plan.
  • Sun Titan — Recurs cheap Auras and enchantments, supporting the value-grind backbone.

Upgrade Path

Increase your enchantment ramp density (Fertile Ground, Overgrowth, Wolfwillow Haven) so the +2 always pays off, and add more enchantress draw (Setessan Champion, Enchantress's Presence). Tighten the deck with a clean finisher such as Approach of the Second Sun or a voltron payoff, and include protection like Greater Auramancy and Privileged Position to make the engine resilient to board wipes.
