The Commander

You and permanents you control have protection from Salamanders.

At the beginning of your end step, each player who controls the fewest creatures creates a 4/3 blue Salamander Warrior creature token.

Gameplan

Gor Muldrak is a quirky GU build-around: he hands a 4/3 Salamander Warrior to whoever has the fewest creatures each end step, while you and your board are immune to all Salamanders. Flood your own side with green tokens and ramp so you never have the fewest, force-feeding opponents bodies you can ignore, then leverage your protection to attack unblockably and your wide board to close. He's part political group-slug, part tokens/aggro engine that turns the symmetric handout into a one-sided advantage.

Strengths

  • Built-in evasion: your whole board has protection from Salamanders, so the tokens you give away can't profitably block or attack you.
  • A free recurring creature engine that keeps the board cluttered for fight, sacrifice, and 'punish wide' effects.
  • Cheap 3-mana commander in colors with the best ramp, card draw, and protection spells.
  • Pillowforts naturally — opponents pile up Salamanders that just trade with each other, not you.

Weaknesses

  • The token gift is symmetric and helps opponents, who can grow their own armies or fuel aristocrats/sacrifice payoffs.
  • Needs to actually win — the commander generates value but no inevitability on its own.
  • Vulnerable to mass removal that ignores Salamander protection; one wrath resets your creature-count edge.
  • Politically awkward: feeding three opponents free 4/3s every turn can snowball the table against you.

  • Craterhoof Behemoth — Turns your wide token board into lethal trample damage in a single swing.
  • Heroic Intervention — Protects your go-wide board from the wraths that would otherwise undo your creature-count lead.
  • Cryptolith Rite — Converts all your tokens and donated Salamanders into mana, snowballing into huge plays.
  • Beastmaster Ascension — Cheap anthem that makes a wide token swarm overwhelming with minimal setup.
  • Cultivate — Premium green ramp to deploy threats and finishers ahead of curve.

Upgrade Path

Add token doublers (Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Anointed Procession) so you reliably control the most creatures and dodge the Salamanders entirely. Layer in steal effects and sacrifice outlets to weaponize the bodies you've handed out, and round out with fast green ramp and free protection (Veil of Summer, Tamiyo's Safekeeping) to push toward a consistent Craterhoof or wide-aggro kill turn.
