Gameplan
Hua Tuo is a green recursion engine that turns your graveyard into a reusable toolbox of creatures. Each turn you tap him before combat to put back your best creature—a fatty, a value ETB body, or a sacrificed token producer—then redraw and recast it. The deck grinds incremental advantage, leveraging green's ramp to keep recurring and out-resource opponents over a long game.
Strengths
- Repeatable creature recursion that generates relentless card advantage without spending cards
- Low mana value (3) makes him cheap to deploy and recast after removal
- Pairs perfectly with green's ramp and big-mana payoffs
- Excellent at recovering from board wipes by buying back your best threats
Weaknesses
- Mono-green lacks interaction, card draw filtering, and instant-speed answers
- Tucking to top of library is slow—you must draw the card again before replaying it
- Heavily reliant on having Hua Tuo untapped and on the battlefield; he's an obvious removal magnet
- No evasion or built-in win condition; can stall against faster combo decks
- Sorcery-speed activation (before attackers) limits flexibility

Upgrade Path
Add cheap untappers (Wirewood Symbiote, Quirion Ranger, Thousand-Year Elixir) to activate Hua Tuo multiple times per turn, and top-deck enablers like Sylvan Library and Scroll Rack to instantly draw what you tuck. Lean into a sacrifice/blink package with Greater Good, Skullclamp, and Eldritch Evolution to convert recursion into raw card velocity, and include protection like Heroic Intervention and Lightning Greaves to keep your engine online.
