When Ignis Scientia enters, look at the top six cards of your library. You may put a land card from among them onto the battlefield tapped. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

: Exile target card from a graveyard. If a creature card was exiled this way, create a Food token.
Ignis is a value engine commander in Simic that ramps and recurs-protects through graveyard manipulation. You ramp early with Ignis's land drop and mana dorks, then use the activated ability to exile threats from graveyards (denying reanimator/recursion decks) while generating Food, which fuels lifegain and sacrifice payoffs. You win by snowballing card advantage into big creatures, value loops, or a Food/lifegain combo.
Lean into a focused Food/aristocrats combo package with Cauldron Familiar, Witch's Oven, and Trail of Crumbs for a compact win, and add fast mana like Sol Ring and Simic Signet to deploy Ignis ahead of curve. Tighten the manabase and ramp suite to abuse the land-into-play trigger, and include flexible interaction such as Cyclonic Rift, Beast Within, and counterspells since GU lacks removal. For higher power, add tutors like Worldly Tutor and a backup combo line so you aren't reliant on the slow activated ability.
