BuildCard details

The Commander

Other creatures you control get +1/+0.

Whenever a nontoken creature you control dies, Judith deals 1 damage to any target.

Guide

Gameplan

Judith is a Rakdos aristocrats commander that grinds value out of dying creatures: build a board of expendable bodies, sacrifice them repeatedly, and let Judith's death pings whittle down opponents or clear blockers while the +1/+0 anthem makes attacks lethal. You ramp into a sacrifice engine, loop creatures with reanimation or recursion, and convert each death into reach damage. Close games either through repeatable sac loops or a wide aggressive board.

Strengths

  • Turns every nontoken creature death into guaranteed damage to any target, including faces.
  • +1/+0 anthem pushes aggressive or token-adjacent boards into lethal range.
  • Cheap three-mana body that synergizes with a deep, well-supported Rakdos aristocrats card pool.
  • Provides repeatable removal for small creatures and planeswalkers without needing spells.

Weaknesses

  • Ping only triggers on nontoken creatures, so token strategies whiff on the damage half.
  • Removal-heavy decks neutralize her easily and the deck loses tempo each recast.
  • No built-in card advantage; runs out of gas without dedicated draw engines.
  • Vulnerable to graveyard hate that shuts off recursion loops.
  • One damage at a time is slow against high life totals without a true combo.

Key Cards

  • Mayhem Devil — Stacks another ping with Judith so every sacrifice deals two damage, accelerating combo and grind plans.
  • Blood Artist — Drains life on each death to offset Judith's lack of life gain and provide an alternate damage axis.
  • Viscera Seer — Free sacrifice outlet that lets you trigger Judith at will and scry through your deck.
  • Ashnod's Altar — Free sac outlet that ramps and enables loops with recursive creatures.
  • Gravecrawler — Recurs from the graveyard endlessly to feed sacrifice outlets and rack up Judith pings.
  • Reassembling Skeleton — Repeatable nontoken sacrifice fodder that converts mana into Judith damage.

Upgrade Path

Add fast mana (Sol Ring, Jeweled Lotus, ritual effects) and a tutor package (Demonic Tutor, Diabolic Intent) to assemble the Judith plus Mayhem Devil plus free-sac-outlet plus loop creature combo more reliably. Lean into card advantage with Skullclamp, Midnight Reaper, and Bastion of Remembrance, and improve the loop pieces (Karmic Guide, Reveillark style recursion or Gravecrawler engines). Tighten removal and interaction so your engine survives, and run high-quality dual lands to smooth the aggressive curve.
