BuildCard details

The Commander

When Kitt Kanto enters, create a 1/1 green and white Citizen creature token.

At the beginning of combat on each player's turn, you may tap two untapped creatures you control. When you do, target creature that player controls gets +2/+2 and gains trample until end of turn. Goad that creature.

Guide

Gameplan

Kitt Kanto turns every combat step on the table into your weapon—tap two creatures to pump and goad an opponent's creature, forcing it to attack someone else (ideally another opponent). You flood the board with tokens to fuel the tap ability four times per turn cycle while building toward go-wide overruns or a single voltron threat you ride to the win. The deck plays politics, redirecting opposing armies into each other while you sit safely behind a growing token wall.

Strengths

  • Generates value and goads on every player's turn, not just yours, accelerating board chaos
  • Naya colors give access to the best token, anthem, and combat payoffs
  • Can win through politics by letting opponents grind each other down
  • Token-rich boards make the tap cost trivial and feed sacrifice/anthem synergies
  • ETB Citizen token gives immediate fodder and a body even after a wipe

Weaknesses

  • Goading buffs an opponent's creature, which can backfire if you point it poorly or there are only two players left
  • Relies on having creatures to tap—vulnerable to board wipes that strand the ability
  • Commander is a buff engine, not a standalone threat, so removal slows your tempo
  • Three-color manabase strains consistency without good fixing
  • Can be slow to actually close games if you over-commit to politics

Key Cards

  • Disrupt Decorum — Mass goad turns the whole table's board against your opponents, amplifying Kitt's politics plan in one shot.
  • Craterhoof Behemoth — Token-heavy boards make it a one-card overrun finisher when you decide to swing for the win.
  • Intangible Virtue — Anthems pump your wide token army and make goaded combat math even more lopsided.
  • Marauding Raptor — Symbolic of cheap aggressive enablers—any token doubler or anthem multiplies Kitt's value engine.
  • Smothering Tithe — Premier ramp/advantage that keeps a three-color token deck flush with mana and cards.
  • Heroic Intervention — Protects your board from the wipes that would otherwise neuter the tap-two ability.

Upgrade Path

Add token doublers (Anointed Procession, Doubling Season) and stronger anthems to make every Citizen lethal, plus mass-goad pieces like Disrupt Decorum and Agitator Ant to maximize the politics engine. Tighten the manabase with Triomes, fetches, and Cultivate-style ramp, and include protection (Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection) so a single wrath doesn't shut off your tap ability. For higher power, lean into a focused Craterhoof/Pathbreaker Ibex finish backed by fast mana like Smothering Tithe and Mana Crypt.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Craterhoof or other overrun effect on a wide token board
  • ▸Letting goaded armies grind opponents to death while you stay defended
  • ▸Voltron beatdown buffing one trampling threat each combat
  • ▸Anthem-pumped token alpha strikes with trample

Archetypes

  • Tokens — Kitt makes a body on entry and rewards a wide board you can tap for buffs and overrun finishers.
  • Politics / Goad — The goad trigger every turn lets you weaponize opponents' creatures against each other.
  • Voltron — You can funnel the +2/+2 trample buff onto a single evasive attacker for repeated big swings.
  • Aggro / Go-Wide — Anthems plus repeated buffs turn a token swarm into a fast, evasive beatdown.
