BuildCard details

The Commander

Alliance — Whenever another creature you control enters, choose one that hasn't been chosen this turn.

• Put a +1/+1 counter on Lita.

• Create a Food token. (It's an artifact with "{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this token: You gain 3 life.")

• Scry 1.

Guide

Gameplan

Lita is a mono-white go-wide engine that snowballs off creatures entering the battlefield. Flood the board with tokens and cheap creatures, triggering Alliance each turn to grow Lita with +1/+1 counters, bank Food for lifegain, and scry to smooth draws. You win by either turning Lita into a fat threat backed by an army or by overwhelming the table with token swarms and anthem effects.

Strengths

  • Cheap two-mana commander that comes online immediately and benefits from any creature deck
  • Free value every turn from counters, Food, and scry with no extra mana cost
  • Synergizes with token producers, blink, and aristocrats already common in white
  • Food production fuels lifegain payoffs and artifact synergies

Weaknesses

  • Mono-white means weak card advantage and limited interaction outside of removal
  • Only one Alliance mode per creature ETB per turn, so value caps quickly each turn
  • Relies on going wide, making it vulnerable to board wipes
  • No built-in evasion or reach; Lita can stall against fliers and big blockers

Key Cards

  • Anointed Procession — Doubles every token you make, multiplying Food and creature ETBs that feed Alliance.
  • Trading Post — Turns banked Food into card draw, creatures, and life, giving mono-white the engine it craves.
  • Welcoming Vampire — Draws cards whenever small creatures enter, perfectly mirroring Lita's go-wide ETB plan.
  • Skullclamp — Premier white-friendly card advantage off your expendable tokens and small creatures.
  • Cathars' Crusade — Stacks +1/+1 counters on your whole board with every creature ETB, turning the swarm lethal.
  • Heliod, Sun-Crowned — Converts your incidental lifegain from Food into counters and removal-resistant scaling.

Upgrade Path

Add token doublers (Anointed Procession, Mondrak), strong anthems (Intangible Virtue, Cathars' Crusade), and white's best card draw (Skullclamp, Welcoming Vampire, Esper Sentinel) to fight mono-color attrition. Layer in proliferate and sacrifice payoffs to convert your wide board into closing power, and include a couple of protective pieces like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver to survive board wipes.

Core Cards

The most-played cards for this commander, built from aggregated deck data (the Mythic Graph). Build public decks to seed it.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Anthem-boosted token swarm attacks for lethal combat damage
  • ▸A massive counter-laden Lita supported by evasion enchantments
  • ▸Aristocrats drain via sacrifice payoffs like Blood Artist effects

Archetypes

  • Tokens — Every token entering triggers Alliance, so wide boards compound counters, Food, and scry.
  • Counters / +1/+1 — Lita naturally grows and pairs with proliferate and Cathars' Crusade payoffs.
  • Aristocrats — Food and expendable tokens enable sacrifice loops and value engines like Skullclamp.
  • Blink — Flicker effects re-trigger creature ETBs to fire Alliance and stack value each turn.
