The Commander

Tap an untapped nontoken artifact you control: Add {G}.

Tap two untapped nontoken artifacts you control: Exile the top card of your library. You may play it this turn.

Guide

Gameplan

Flood the board with cheap nontoken artifacts, then tap them with Meria to ramp into green mana and to exile-and-play cards off the top, generating explosive card advantage in colors that normally lack it. You chain artifacts and rituals into a big payoff turn that overwhelms the table with mana and impulse draw.

Strengths

  • Turns mana rocks and cheap artifacts into both ramp and card advantage at once
  • Operates in GR, giving access to artifact ramp plus the format's best ritual/explosive plays
  • Cheap commander (3 MV) that's hard to fully shut off without sweepers
  • Synergizes with untap and cost-reduction effects for huge engine turns

Weaknesses

  • Heavily relies on having artifacts; targeted artifact removal and sweepers cripple her
  • Many activations only matter while Meria is on the battlefield, so commander removal stalls the deck
  • Top-of-library impulse draw can whiff on lands or uncastable cards
  • GR lacks counterspells and protection, leaving the engine vulnerable to disruption

Key Cards

  • Voltaic Key — Untaps an artifact to double up on Meria activations for more mana and impulse draws.
  • Unwinding Clock — Untaps all your artifacts every turn, letting you tap them again on each opponent's turn for absurd value.
  • Inspiring Statuary — Improvise lets you tap artifacts for spells while still leaving Meria's abilities open via overlap of resources.
  • Sensei's Divining Top — A free nontoken artifact that fixes the top of your library so Meria's exile ability hits gas.
  • Etali, Primal Conqueror — A premier GR payoff for all the mana Meria generates and a game-ending impulse engine itself.
  • Mycosynth Lattice — Turns every permanent into an artifact, supercharging Meria's mana and exile activations.

Upgrade Path

Add untap enablers (Unwinding Clock, Voltaic Key, Clock of Omens) and mana-positive rocks to build toward infinite-mana loops, then include a clean payoff like Walking Ballista or Comet Storm. Tighten the artifact base toward cheap, mana-positive pieces and top-deck manipulation (Sensei's Divining Top, scry effects) so impulse draws never whiff. Prioritize protecting Meria with haste enablers and recursion since the deck collapses without her.

Core Cards

The most-played cards for this commander, built from aggregated deck data (the Mythic Graph). Build public decks to seed it.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Cast a huge X-spell or fatty (Walking Ballista, Comet Storm, Etali payoffs) with explosive Meria mana
  • ▸Generate infinite mana via untap loops and dump it into a finisher
  • ▸Bury the table in card advantage from impulse draw and win the resource war
  • ▸Beat down with artifact creatures and big green threats accelerated out early

Archetypes

  • Artifacts — Meria rewards casting and tapping a wide base of nontoken artifacts for mana and card flow.
  • Combo — Untap effects plus mana-positive rocks can loop Meria activations into near-infinite mana and impulse draw.
  • Big Mana Ramp — She converts artifacts into green mana to power out oversized payoffs ahead of curve.
  • Spellslinger — The impulse-draw engine lets you cast a deluge of spells off the top each turn.
