The Commander

More Than Meets the Eye {2}{W} (You may cast this card converted for {2}{W}.)

Whenever Prowl attacks, exile up to one other target tapped creature or Vehicle. For as long as that card remains exiled, its owner may play it.

Whenever a player plays a card exiled with Prowl, you draw a card and convert Prowl.

Living metal (During your turn, this Vehicle is also a creature.)

Whenever another creature or Vehicle you control enters, put a +1/+1 counter on Prowl. If this is the second time this ability has resolved this turn, convert Prowl.

Guide

Gameplan

Prowl is a mono-white artifact/Vehicle midrange commander that snowballs +1/+1 counters every time creatures or Vehicles enter, growing into a fast clock while its attack trigger temporarily exiles tapped permanents to grind value. You flood the board with tokens and cheap bodies to fatten Prowl and trigger 'convert,' then attack to exile a key blocker and draw cards as exiled cards get replayed.

Strengths

  • Self-snowballing threat that turns any token/Vehicle deck into a Voltron-style clock for free
  • Living metal makes Prowl a creature on your turn while keeping it artifact-safe from sorcery-speed removal off-turn
  • Card advantage engine when exiled cards are replayed, fueling a go-wide artifact shell
  • Cheap to recast from command zone via More Than Meets the Eye at {2}{W}

Weaknesses

  • Mono-white limits raw card draw, ramp, and interaction compared to multicolor decks
  • The exile attack trigger lets the OWNER replay the card, so it's poor true removal/theft
  • Counters live on the commander—one removal spell resets your whole investment
  • Relies on attacking and on a steady stream of ETBs to function, so board wipes hurt badly

Key Cards

  • Skullclamp — Turns the constant stream of small tokens into a relentless draw engine while triggering Prowl's enter ability.
  • Anointed Procession — Doubles your token output, accelerating both Prowl's counters and convert triggers each turn.
  • Smothering Tithe — Mono-white's premier ramp/advantage piece to keep the artifact and token engine flowing.
  • Hardened Scales — Amplifies every +1/+1 counter Prowl gains, making it a lethal threat far faster.
  • Ageless Entity — Counter synergy payoff that grows alongside Prowl's snowballing engine.
  • Cathars' Crusade — Stacks counters across your whole board every time a creature enters, multiplying Prowl's enter trigger value.

Upgrade Path

Tighten the curve toward cheap token-makers and artifact creatures so you hit two ETBs per turn reliably, then add counter doublers (Hardened Scales, Doubling Season) and protection (Heroic Intervention, Teferi's Protection) so a removal spell doesn't undo your snowball. Lean into mono-white's best ramp/advantage—Smothering Tithe, Mind's Eye, Sword of the Animist—and a payoff like Craterhoof Behemoth or Cathars' Crusade to convert the wide board into a decisive swing.

Core Cards

Win Conditions

  • ▸Commander damage from a heavily countered Prowl swinging in
  • ▸Going wide with tokens backed by an anthem or Cathars' Crusade
  • ▸Overrun-style alpha strike via Craterhoof Behemoth or Triumph of the Hordes

Archetypes

  • Tokens / Go-Wide — Each token entering pumps Prowl and feeds its second-trigger convert, turning bodies into a growing threat.
  • Artifacts / Vehicles — As an artifact Vehicle, Prowl headlines a crew-and-counters shell that loves cheap artifact creatures and Vehicles entering.
  • +1/+1 Counters Voltron — Prowl naturally accumulates counters, so counter-doublers and protection turn it into a one-card kill.
  • Blink / Value — Flickering your own creatures retriggers Prowl's enter ability and refills its counters and exile value.
