Mana value4Rank#18,132
BuildCard details

The Commander

Domain — Whenever Radha becomes tapped, another target creature you control gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of basic land types among lands you control.

Guide

Gameplan

Deploy Radha early and attack or tap her to pump a chosen creature based on your basic land types, racing for big combat damage. You ramp into multi-typed lands (dual/triple lands and fetches) to maximize Domain X, then turn sideways with evasive or trampling threats. The deck is a midrange Gruul beatdown plan that rewards a thoughtful manabase.

Strengths

  • Cheap, repeatable combat pump that scales with a well-built land base
  • Works with any tap effect (convoke, vehicles, attacking) not just attacks
  • Gruul has excellent ramp and the best aggressive creatures for trample/damage
  • Domain rewards fetchlands and duals you'd want anyway

Weaknesses

  • Pump is single-target and needs another creature to be useful
  • Relies on Radha being untapped/available, so removal sets you back
  • No card advantage or recovery built into the commander
  • Vulnerable to board wipes since the plan is creature-centric

Key Cards

  • Prismatic Omen — Turns every land into all five basic land types, maxing Domain X at 5 for a +5/+5 pump.
  • Dryad of the Ilysian Woods — Also grants all basic land types to your lands while ramping, pushing Domain to its ceiling.
  • Sword of the Animist — Lets you tap Radha to fetch basic lands, growing your land types while triggering the pump.
  • Skullclamp — Provides the card advantage the deck otherwise lacks alongside a swarm of bodies to pump.
  • Wild Pair — Cheats giant creatures into play whenever you cast a creature with matching total power and toughness.

Upgrade Path

Prioritize a fixing-rich manabase—fetchlands, Triomes, and effects like Prismatic Omen or Dryad of the Ilysian Woods to guarantee five basic land types and a +5/+5 pump. Add evasion (trample/double strike via Berserk, Rancor, or equipment like Loxodon Warhammer) so the pump always translates to damage, and shore up card advantage with Skullclamp, Garruk's Uprising, or The Great Henge to avoid running out of gas.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Repeated combat damage from a pumped, trampling or evasive creature
  • ▸Voltron-style attacks stacking Domain pumps onto one threat
  • ▸Going wide and pumping a key attacker to push through lethal damage

Archetypes

  • Aggro/Beatdown — Radha's pump turns mid-sized creatures into lethal trampling threats turn after turn.
  • Voltron — Stacking the +X/+X on one evasive creature can deliver commander-damage-style kills quickly.
  • Lands/Domain ramp — The commander directly rewards assembling many basic land types via fetches, duals, and Domain enablers.
