The Commander

Double strike

Auras you control have exalted. (Whenever a creature you control attacks alone, it gets +1/+1 until end of turn for each instance of exalted among permanents you control.)

Guide

Gameplan

Suit up Rashel with cheap, high-impact Auras to stack exalted triggers, then attack alone for lethal commander damage doubled by double strike. Early turns ramp and protect, mid-game you load on Auras and swing for 21+ in a single hit.

Strengths

  • Double strike means each point of power counts twice, so a few Auras quickly equal lethal commander damage
  • Exalted on every Aura turns even cheap enchantments into big stat boosts when attacking alone
  • Mono-white access to the best protection, removal, and resilience pieces (Swords to Plowshares, Teferi's Protection)
  • Only needs 11 power to one-shot a player thanks to double strike

Weaknesses

  • Classic Voltron fragility: a single removal spell or bounce can blow out your Aura investment (card disadvantage)
  • Attacking alone is required to trigger exalted, so it can't pressure multiple opponents at once
  • Mono-white lacks card draw and ramp, leading to flooding or stalling
  • Vulnerable to fog effects, pillow-fort, and go-wide token strategies that race you

Key Cards

  • Daybreak Coronet — Adds exalted plus huge stats, lifelink, vigilance, and first strike—an all-star Aura that needs another Aura to cast, which Rashel always provides.
  • Ethereal Armor — Cheap Aura that grows with every enchantment you control and grants first strike, fueling both power and exalted count.
  • Shielded by Faith — Indestructible Aura that protects Rashel while still counting toward exalted triggers.
  • All That Glitters — Scales with artifacts and enchantments for massive power swings while adding an exalted instance.
  • Sram, Senior Edificer — Draws a card every time you cast an Aura, solving white's card-draw problem in an Aura-heavy build.
  • Teferi's Protection — The premier white protection spell to save your whole board and Aura investment from a wrath.

Upgrade Path

Add Aura-recursion (Hall of Heliod's Generosity, Replenish) and protection like Faith's Shield and Flawless Maneuver to insulate against removal blowouts. Lean into evasion and unblockable enablers (Spirit Mantle, Steel of the Godhead, Rogue's Passage) so a doubled Rashel always connects, and run Three Tree City or Smothering Tithe to fix white's ramp and card economy.

Core Cards

The most-played cards for this commander, built from aggregated deck data (the Mythic Graph). Build public decks to seed it.

Win Conditions

  • ▸21 commander damage in one or two doubled attacks
  • ▸Going wide is off-plan—win by overwhelming a single blocker with a buffed Rashel
  • ▸Lifelink Auras (Daybreak Coronet, Spirit Mantle) racing the table while staying out of removal range

Archetypes

  • Voltron — Rashel's double strike plus stacked exalted makes single-attacker commander-damage kills the core plan.
  • Auras / Enchantress — Every Aura adds exalted and triggers card-draw engines like Sram and Sigarda's Aid.
  • Mono-White Midrange — Backs up the Voltron threat with efficient white removal, taxes, and protection.
