Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, you may pay . If you do, target creature gains double strike until end of turn.
Shu Yun is a Jeskai voltron/spellslinger commander who turns a steady stream of cheap noncreature spells into a one-shot kill. Each turn you protect and pump Shu Yun with cantrips, buffs, and protection spells, then grant him double strike to swing for lethal commander damage, often with extra prowess triggers stacked on. Most games end out of nowhere when you untap with mana and a hand full of cheap spells.
Lean into cheap cantrips and free spells (Mutagenic Growth, Gut Shot, Deflecting Swat) so you can buff, protect, and kill in one turn, and add unblockable enablers like Slip Through Space and Aqueous Form. Include power multipliers (Berserk, Fireblade Charger-style boosts) and tutors to find them, plus protection like Snakeskin Veil and Apostle's Blessing. Tighten mana with fast rocks and dual lands, and add a backup voltron threat or two so removal on Shu Yun doesn't end your game.
