The Commander

Other Snake creatures you control get +1/+0.

Whenever a Warrior you control deals combat damage to a creature, destroy that creature at end of combat.

Guide

Gameplan

Sosuke is a mono-green Snake tribal aggro commander who buffs your Snake army with +1/+0 and turns your Warriors into removal machines—any creature your Warriors deal combat damage to dies. Flood the board with cheap Snakes (many of which are also Warriors), pump them wide, and crash in to grind down both creatures and life totals. You win through repeatable beatdown backed by Snake-matters payoffs and green ramp.

Strengths

  • Mono-green keeps the mana base cheap, consistent, and immune to color screw while enabling fast ramp.
  • Free 'deathtouch-like' removal on every Warrior keeps blockers from sticking and punishes chump blocks.
  • Snake/Warrior overlap means many creatures benefit from the +1/+0 anthem AND trigger the destroy ability.
  • Goes wide easily with Snake token producers and green's powerful mass-pump effects.

Weaknesses

  • Mono-green has poor interaction with noncreature permanents and no spot removal for problem enchantments/artifacts.
  • Relies on combat damage, so flyers, fogs, and board wipes blunt the whole plan.
  • The destroy trigger requires connecting in combat, which evasion-light Snakes struggle to do through big blockers.
  • No card-draw color identity outside green's creature/enchantment draw can lead to running out of gas.

Key Cards

  • Seshiro the Anointed — Snake-matters lord that buffs power/toughness and draws a card whenever a Snake deals combat damage, fueling the aggressive plan.
  • Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro — Adds mana for Snakes and Shamans and is itself a Snake, accelerating your tribal board out.
  • Patagia Viper — Cheap Snake that makes a token and gives the team flying, granting the evasion Sosuke's combat trigger badly needs.
  • Coat of Arms — Massive anthem in a tribal board, turning a wide Snake/Warrior army into a lethal swing.
  • Overwhelming Stampede — Trample-granting overrun effect that converts a wide board into a one-shot kill.
  • Skullclamp — Premier card advantage engine that loves cheap 1-toughness Snake tokens to refuel the deck.

Upgrade Path

Add more dual-typed Snake Warriors and reliable evasion (flying or trample) so Sosuke's destroy trigger consistently connects, and lean on Skullclamp plus green draw engines to avoid running dry. Improve ramp with Sol Ring, Cultivate, and mana dorks to deploy threats faster, and include a green answer suite (Beast Within, Krosan Grip) to cover green's interaction gaps. Cap it with a finisher package—Craterhoof Behemoth or Pathbreaker Ibex—to turn any wide board into instant lethal.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Swing wide with a buffed Snake/Warrior army for commander damage and life-total beatdown.
  • ▸Cast an overrun effect (Overwhelming Stampede, Triumph of the Hordes) to deal one big lethal hit.
  • ▸Grind out the board with Warrior combat-damage destruction, then close with unblockable or trampling threats.

Archetypes

  • Tribal Aggro — Sosuke is a Snake lord that pumps the team and arms Warriors with removal, rewarding a flood of cheap Snake bodies.
  • Go-Wide Tokens — Snake token makers plus anthems and overrun effects let you build a board and swing for lethal.
  • Stompy/Combat — Green's pump spells, trample enablers, and the destroy trigger make combat damage the deck's primary removal and win path.
