Reach

Whenever The Dawning Archaic attacks, you may cast target instant or sorcery card from your graveyard without paying its mana cost. If that spell would be put into your graveyard, exile it instead.

Gameplan

Build a colorless Eldrazi-ramp shell, fill your graveyard with the (admittedly small) pool of colorless instants and sorceries, then cast The Dawning Archaic at a steep discount and swing. Each attack flings a free spell from your graveyard—usually a wrath or removal that gets exiled afterward—while your Eldrazi and big bodies grind opponents down. You're playing a grindy ramp-control game that closes with colossal colorless beaters.

Strengths

  • Self-reducing cost means a graveyard full of spells lets you deploy a 10-mana bomb for a fraction of the price.
  • Free spell recasts every combat turn it attacks generate huge card and tempo advantage.
  • Reach makes it a respectable blocker against flyers while you set up.
  • Colorless identity lets you run any-color staples like Wastes-friendly fixing and the full Eldrazi ramp package.

Weaknesses

  • The colorless instant/sorcery pool is genuinely tiny, so finding enough fuel and meaningful spells to recast is the core deckbuilding challenge.

Add every quality colorless instant and sorcery you can find (Titan's Presence, Spatial Contortion, Not of This World) to maximize both the cost reduction and the recast trigger. Round out with colorless tutors and recursion like Planar Bridge and Scrap Trawler-style value to fight through the deck's natural inconsistency.
