BuildCard details

The Commander

If you would draw a card, look at the top three cards of your library instead. Put one of those cards into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.

Guide

Gameplan

Tomorrow turns every draw into card selection, letting you sculpt a mono-blue control or combo deck that always finds its best card. Spend the early game ramping and protecting yourself with counters and bounce, then snowball card advantage into a hard lock or combo finish. The deck wins by out-resourcing the table and assembling an inevitable engine while Tomorrow filters your draws.

Strengths

  • Massive card quality on every single draw step, smoothing every game
  • Mono-blue gives access to the best counterspells, card draw, and protection
  • Fuels and protects combo lines while doubling as a value engine
  • Cheap to recast relative to other blue card-advantage engines

Weaknesses

  • Six mana for a do-nothing-immediately body makes it slow and removal-bait
  • Mono-blue lacks removal for resolved permanents and life-gain
  • Selection, not raw card advantage—doesn't refill hand by itself
  • Vulnerable to graveyard hate and commander tax if repeatedly killed

Key Cards

  • Brainstorm — Looks at six cards and bottoms the chaff, turning a weak cantrip into deep selection.
  • Mystic Confluence — Flexible counter/bounce/draw that anchors a controlling mono-blue shell.
  • Laboratory Maniac — Tomorrow keeps the deck stocked, but pairs with self-mill to enable a win on an empty library.
  • Thassa's Oracle — Premier alternate win condition for the combo-leaning Tomorrow build.
  • Rhystic Study — Generates raw card advantage that Tomorrow then optimizes for maximum value.
  • Sword of Feast and Famine — Lets Tomorrow connect for hand disruption and untap mana, enabling Voltron and tempo plans.

Upgrade Path

Add fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault) and strong rocks so you can deploy Tomorrow ahead of curve and still hold interaction. Lean into a dedicated win: include Thassa's Oracle plus self-mill (Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, Maddening Cacophony on yourself) or Mind Over Matter combos. Finally, upgrade your protection suite with Heroic Intervention-style blue staples like Swiftfoot Boots, Veil of Summer alternatives, and counterspell density to defend the engine.

Core Cards

The most-played cards for this commander, built from aggregated deck data (the Mythic Graph). Build public decks to seed it.

Win Conditions

  • ▸Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac off an emptied or near-empty library
  • ▸Grinding the table out with card advantage then closing with a big finisher like Blue Sun's Zenith
  • ▸Commander damage Voltron with equipment and protection
  • ▸Mind Over Matter / Temple Bell style draw-loop combos

Archetypes

  • Control — Tomorrow's relentless selection finds counters and answers to lock down the game.
  • Combo — Filtering reliably assembles pieces like Lab Man or Thassa's Oracle with self-mill.
  • Spellslinger — Mono-blue cantrip chains become far stronger when each draw digs three deep.
  • Voltron — Equip Tomorrow to grind value while suiting it up as a resilient threat.
