Tymaret, Chosen from Death

Gameplan

A cheap mono-black devotion commander that grows huge as you flood the board with black pips, then beats down while incidentally hating on graveyards. You build a wide, pip-dense board, leverage devotion payoffs, and use Tymaret's graveyard exile to gain life and shut down reanimator/aristocrat opponents.

Upgrade Path

Lean harder into devotion enablers (Nykthos, Bontu's Monument, Caged Sun) and add fast mana like Dark Ritual and Sol Ring to deploy threats early. Tighten the curve with efficient tutors (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor) to find Gray Merchant or a big-mana engine, and add evasion or sacrifice outlets so Tymaret and your devotion creatures actually convert into kills. Consider a compact combo backup like Mikaeus plus a sacrifice loop to give the grindy shell a reliable finish.
