Gameplan
Cast Wan Shi Tong for a big X to immediately dump counters on him and refill your hand, then beat down through the air with an evasive, vigilant threat. Meanwhile every fetch land, tutor, and search effect your opponents play in a high-powered pod grows him and draws you extra cards, snowballing both your card advantage and his power. You close with commander damage or by burying the table in card flow that fuels control or combo.
Strengths
- Flash + flying + vigilance makes him a flexible, hard-to-block threat that can hold back attackers and ambush on the crack-back
- Punishes the exact tutors and fetch lands that define competitive metagames, converting opponents' acceleration into your card advantage
- Generates real card advantage on entry, helping mono-blue keep gas in the tank
