Into the Flood Maw is one of the best one-mana tempo/protection tools blue has gotten in years.
The base mode bounces a creature for . The gift upgrades it to bouncing any nonland permanent — an equipment, a problematic enchantment, a planeswalker, or a combo piece. Giving an opponent a tapped 1/1 Fish is almost always trivial in EDH, where one token rarely matters.
