Why is this card good?
Noxious Revival is one of the most efficient and flexible recursion spells in the format, and the Phyrexian mana cost is what makes it sing — you can cast it in any deck for 2 life, regardless of color identity restrictions on your other cards' actual play (it's still green identity, so it lives in green decks). For one mana or two life, you rebuy your best card.
Where it shines:
- Combo decks that need to reassemble a piece or protect a loop — instant-speed flexibility matters.
- Graveyard hate / disruption: target an opponent's graveyard to deny a key reanimation or flashback target by tucking it.
- Reanimator and value engines rebuying a bomb to immediately recast or reanimate.
The downside: it puts the card on top of the library, not into hand, so you spend a draw to actually use it. It's a tempo cost, not card advantage.
Skip it in fair, grindy decks that just want raw card advantage — Eternal Witness or Regrowth serve you better there.
