Why is this card good?
Bayou is the original dual land for Golgari, and it's about as good as fixing gets. Untapped, no life loss, and it carries both the Swamp and Forest types — that's the real prize in Commander.
Those basic land types let it be fetched by Verdant Catacombs, Bayou synergizes with Misty Rainforest, etc., and tutored by cards like Crop Rotation. It also dodges Strip Mine/Wasteland in a way nonbasics with no basic type can't. For mana-hungry Golgari decks, that smoothness compounds across a long game.
Who wants it: any serious BG or BG-adjacent deck — aristocrats (Meren, Korvold), graveyard/reanimator, lands strategies, or three+ color decks splashing these colors. Fetchland-heavy manabases especially love it.
When to skip it: budget builds (it's expensive), and decks where you don't actually run fetchlands or care about untapped fixing — a tapland or Overgrown Tomb gets you 90% there for pennies. Pure power, mostly a price-tag question.
