Why is this card good?
Bloodletter of Aclazotz is a damage doubler that's deceptively powerful in dedicated drain decks. The key detail: it works on any life loss during your turn — combat damage, drain effects, edicts, symmetrical "everyone loses life" effects, all of it.
Where it shines:
- Aristocrats — pair with Blood Artist effects, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Vito to turn small drains into lethal pings.
- Group slug / lifeloss — Liliana's Caress, Bontu, Cruel Reality, or anything that forces opponents to discard/sacrifice into pain.
- Combo enabler — with effects like Exquisite Blood or a single big drain, it pushes you over the top fast and can outright kill the table.
The 3/4 flyer for four is a fine body, and you can attack into the doubling too.
When NOT to play it: It's a build-around, not a goodstuff card. It only triggers on your turn, so it doesn't protect you defensively, and in decks without repeatable drain it's just a vanilla flyer. Skip it outside black-heavy lifeloss shells.
