Why is this card good?

Coruscation Mage is a payoff piece for spellslinger decks, turning every instant, sorcery, artifact, and enchantment you cast into incidental reach. In a four-player pod, each noncreature spell pings 3 damage — and with Offspring you can run two copies, doubling the trigger to 6 damage per cast. This shines in storm-adjacent and spellslinger builds led by commanders like Krark, Veyran (who doubles the trigger!), Zada, or any izzet "cast a million spells" shell. Pair it with cantrips, rituals, and cost reducers and it becomes a wincon by attrition, especially alongside other "magecraft" punishers like Electrostatic Field or Firebrand Archer. Note it hits each opponent, so it scales with pod size and closes games out of nowhere once you assemble a few of these effects. Skip it in low-spell decks — if you're not casting 4+ noncreature spells a turn, it's a vanilla 2/2. It also does nothing the turn it lands and dies to any sweeper, so it's a fragile, build-around payoff, not a generically good card.
