Why is this card good?

Goldspan Dragon is one of the best red five-drops you can run, full stop. A 4/4 flying haste body that immediately threatens damage is fine on its own, but the value engine is what sells it: it pumps out Treasures on attack, and doubles the mana from every Treasure you control. That second clause is sneaky-good — your Dockside Extortionist tokens, Smothering Tithe payments, and ritual Treasures all suddenly produce double. This shines in any red deck that already cares about Treasures or wants explosive mana: spellslinger and storm shells (it ramps you into big turns), Dragon tribal, and aggressive midrange decks that want a fast clock plus a payoff. Commanders like Prosper, Magda, or any artifact/Treasure-matters list love it. The "becomes the target" clause also rewards you for targeting it with your own buffs or protection spells. Skip it in decks with no Treasure synergy and slower, grindy strategies where a vanilla-ish beater underperforms — it wants to attack and convert mana, not sit back.
