Mondrak, Glory Dominus

{2}{W}{W}

Legendary Creature — Phyrexian Horror

Legal Salt 1.07Rank #410

If one or more tokens would be created under your control, twice that many of those tokens are created instead.

{1}{W/P}{W/P}, Sacrifice two other artifacts and/or creatures: Put an indestructible counter on Mondrak. ({W/P} can be paid with either {W} or 2 life.)

4/4

Why is this card good?

Mondrak is a token-doubler stapled to a cheap, aggressive body, and that combination is what makes it elite. At four mana in mono-white, it lands far earlier than Doubling Season or Parallel Lives and immediately warps your board — every token-maker becomes twice as good, and effects that double already start compounding absurdly. Where it shines: - Token decks (Krenko-style swarms, Adeline, Myrel, anything go-wide). - Aristocrats — double the bodies means double the sac fodder and death triggers. - Treasure/Clue/Food decks, since artifact tokens double too, fueling ramp and combos. The indestructible ability is real upside: it protects your engine from board wipes, and you can pay life instead of mana to do it on the cheap. Skip it if your deck isn't token-centric — it does nothing on an empty board, and as a four-mana enchant-the-board piece it's a removal magnet. In tokens, though, it's a top-tier, faster alternative to the green doublers and well worth running alongside them.

    Everything that is specified by the effect creating the original token or tokens will also be true about the additional token or tokens created by Mondrak's replacement effect. For example, if an effect tells you to create a token "tapped and attacking," the additional tokens will also be tapped and attacking. Similarly, if an effect creates a token and puts counters on it (such as a Fractal token) the additional token will also get those counters.
