Six

{2}{G}

Legendary Creature — Treefolk

LegalRank #551

Reach

Whenever Six attacks, mill three cards. You may put a land card from among them into your hand.

During your turn, nonland permanent cards in your graveyard have retrace. (You may cast permanent cards from your graveyard by discarding a land card in addition to paying their other costs.)

Why is this card good?

Six is a graveyard-recursion engine wearing a 3-mana body, and it's quietly one of the best value commanders in green's toolbox. The headline is retrace on every nonland permanent in your yard during your turn. That turns lands in hand into fuel to recast creatures, artifacts, enchantments, and planeswalkers from the graveyard over and over. Pair this with self-mill (which Six does itself on attack) and you get an endless stream of bodies — fantastic for token/aristocrats shells, ETB value engines, and graveyard "recursion piles." It loves lands-matter synergies too: it fetches lands to your hand, and excess lands become recast fuel rather than dead draws. Crucible-style and landfall payoffs slot in naturally. Want it as a commander in mono-green graveyard-value or self-mill decks; great as a 99 in any green deck that mills itself. Skip it if your deck doesn't fill its own graveyard or doesn't flood on lands — without those, retrace just stares at you, and a vanilla 3/3 reach isn't doing the work.

    If a spell you cast with retrace is countered, it's put back into your graveyard. You may use the retrace ability to cast it again.
