Ramunap Excavator

{2}{G}

Creature — Snake Cleric

LegalRank #432

You may play lands from your graveyard.

2/3

Why is this card good?

Ramunap Excavator is a green staple disguised as a humble 3-drop. The Crucible of Worlds effect on a creature body is exactly what green wants: relentless land recursion that turns your graveyard into a second hand. The magic is in pairing it with sacrifice lands. Fetchlands, Strip Mine, Wasteland, and Ghost Quarter become reusable engines — replaying fetches smooths your draws and fuels landfall, while recurring Strip Mine/Wasteland lets you lock opponents out of key lands every turn. Bojuka Bog on a loop is graveyard hate on demand. Who wants it: landfall decks (Tatyova, Aesi, Lord Windgrace), land-matters and lands-as-resources strategies, and any green stax/MLD shell abusing land destruction. Sakura-Tribe Scout or Exploration push extra plays per turn. When to skip it: decks with few utility/sac lands get little payoff — you're just replaying basics. It's also a creature, so it dies to everything; in heavy-removal pods Crucible itself may be more resilient. Cheap, repeatable value — run it whenever your lands do work.

    Ramunap Excavator doesn't change the times when you can play those land cards. You can still play only one land per turn, and only during your main phase when you have priority and the stack is empty.

  • 2017-07-14

    Ramunap Excavator doesn't allow you to activate activated abilities (such as cycling) of land cards in your graveyard.
