Why is this card good?
Strip Mine is one of the best lands in the format, and it belongs in nearly every deck regardless of color.
The pitch is simple: it taps for colorless like a Wastes, but carries built-in interaction. You're rarely losing a land slot — you're getting a removal spell that costs almost nothing. The flexibility to answer a problem on demand is what makes it elite.
What it kills matters:
- Critical utility lands: Cabal Coffers, Gaea's Cradle, Maze of Ith, Bojuka Bog.
- Stax/manlands: Glacial Chasm, Celestial Colonnade, Inkmoth Nexus.
- Combo enablers: Dark Depths, anything that combos off a specific land.
- In a pinch, mana denial against a single-color or fragile manabase.
Best in: stax decks, control shells, and any deck wanting cheap answers to the format's increasingly powerful nonbasics.
When to skip it: very greedy, colorblind manabases that can't afford a colorless source, or budget decks where the slot is better as a dual. Otherwise, run it.
