Why is this card good?
Archivist of Oghma is one of white's best modern carddraw engines, and a quiet hate piece rolled into one.
The key insight: Commander is full of library searches. Fetchlands, Rampant Growth, Demonic Tutor, Cultivate, Evolving Wilds — opponents search constantly, often multiple times per turn cycle. Each trigger nets you a card and a life, with zero deckbuilding cost. In a four-player pod you'll routinely draw several cards per turn rotation just by existing.
Flash is the cherry on top: drop it in response to a tutor or fetch crack to immediately profit, or hold it as a combat trick / surprise blocker.
Wants it: Any white deck, full stop. It shines hardest in stax, hatebears, and grindy midrange shells (Eriette, Heliod, mono-white control) that value attrition.
When to skip: Decks racing to combo-kill by turn 4-5 don't have time to grind value, and against a creature-heavy/landbase-light pod with few tutors, it underperforms. But those cases are rare — this is a near-auto-include in white.
