Why is this card good?

Niv-Mizzet, Parun is a build-around engine that turns card draw into damage and spellcasting into card draw — and crucially, every player's spells feed you, not just your own. In a spellslinger pod, that's a constant trickle of cards. The real payoff is combo: pair Niv with Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Now drawing a card pings something, which draws a card, which pings again — an infinite loop that kills the table outright. With Mind Over Matter plus a draw outlet you get similar engines. Even without the combo, his draw triggers fuel a grindy Izzet value game. He wants Izzet spellslinger/control shells with heavy instant-sorcery density and ways to redraw or untap. The uncounterable clause and six-color-pip cost make him resilient but hard to cast off-color rocks. Don't play him if your deck isn't actually spell-heavy — without instants/sorceries or a Curiosity-type aura, he's just a 5/5 flyer. He's also a magnet for removal, so protect him.
